HReX: A New Large-Format Lens Line-Up for 100 MP+ Machine Vision
The new HReX Series is being developed for ultra-high-resolution, large-format imaging and the next generation of demanding machine vision applications.
As industrial imaging systems move towards increasingly larger sensors and higher pixel counts, optical performance becomes a critical part of the system architecture. High sensor resolution alone cannot ensure that fine details are captured accurately across the entire image area. The lens must be able to support both the sensor format and the required level of image detail.
To address these requirements, COMPUTAR is developing HReX – a new lens series for high-resolution, large-format machine vision.
The name HReX stands for “High Resolution eXtended format”, directly reflecting the concept behind the series: optics designed for large image formats and resolutions exceeding 100 megapixels.
Designed for the next generation of imaging systems
The HReX Series is designed to support an image circle of Ø43.3 mm, making it suitable for large-format sensors used in advanced industrial imaging and inspection systems.
The planned line-up includes five focal lengths:
- 25 mm / 35 mm / 50 mm / 75 mm / 110 mm
All models are planned with an aperture range of F2.8 to F22 and a resolution class of 100 MP+.
This broad selection of focal lengths will allow system designers to choose an optical configuration suited to different fields of view, working distances and installation requirements. From wide-area inspection to detailed imaging at longer working distances, the HReX line-up is intended to provide a consistent optical platform for high-resolution applications.
Introducing the X7528TB-HReX
One of the first announced models is the X7528TB-HReX, a 75 mm lens designed for ultra-high-resolution, large-format sensors.
With its Ø43.3 mm image circle and 100 MP+ resolution class, the lens is being developed for machine vision systems in which detailed image acquisition and large sensor coverage are essential.
Potential application areas include:
precision measurement and metrology;
semiconductor and electronics inspection;
inspection of large components and surfaces;
high-resolution quality control;
research and scientific imaging;
advanced automated inspection systems.
Selectable mount option
The mechanical interface is an important consideration when integrating large-format cameras and lenses. To support different camera architectures, the HReX Series is planned with selectable mount configurations.
Depending on the model and final specification, available options will include M42, M58 and TFL-II mounts. The required mount can be selected at the time of order, helping system integrators adapt the lens to the selected camera platform.

Bridging high-resolution sensors and machine vision applications
The HReX Series is being developed as an intelligent optical bridge between new large-format sensors and practical machine vision applications.
By combining support for 100 MP+ imaging, a large Ø43.3 mm image circle, multiple focal lengths and flexible mount options, the series will give camera manufacturers, system integrators and machine vision engineers a new platform for developing high-performance imaging systems.
